Fall 2006 Interview with The Deli Magazine:
Limbs: Carving it their own way by Tascha van Auken

Stages:

"Stages is a magically artistic vision that needs to have your fullest attention so that you can explore all of it's songs minor idiosyncrasies." -Smother Magazine [Full Text] (Editor's Pick)

"Stages is the music Slint would play if they found themselves playing on an ice-covered pond when the temperature just went above 32 degrees Fahrenheit: the music is just soft enough to keep the surface from giving in, but is still challenging and percussive. " -Any Given Tuesday [Full Text]

"Limbs plays moody, skillfully arranged indie rock with experimental flourishes. The trio's new self released full length- Stages, puts us in mind of arty 90s groups like Karate and June of 44." -Time Out New York

"Limbs is creating dual composition in which rhythmic complexity and ingenuity... is flirting with very sensitive, expressive and sincere voices and harmonies." -Paperweight [Full Text]

Suspension EP:

"A sea of nuances, a total control of a style... Limbs makes us dwelve into the pure dynamics of a trio with perfect alchemy." -Derives [Full Text in French]

"Definitely an interesting addition to the NYC scene, Limbs' indie pop probably belongs to the post-rock category: dreamy without being psychedelic, definitely moody, rhythmically complex and rather dark. Think Tortoise with the addition of a mysterious vocalist." -The Deli Magazine

"[Limbs has] concocted some intriguing, non-formulaic post-rock that lands somewhere between the dense sonic layers of Polvo and the odd, fractured rhythms of Slint." -Delusions of Adequacy [Full Text]

"Their own brand of ambient indie rock, similar to a more toned down "math rock" without the quick starts and stops. very agreeable combinations of sound from the subdued vocals to the symmetrical, swirling guitar and rapid snare hits... quietly and brilliantly get their point across and move on. Worth every minute of your time, we promise." -Independents Only [Full Text]

"The duality of their music drew me in... the bands I'm reminded of most clearly are early Folk Implosion and Slint... The music they make is informed by angular post-punk yet aims to achieve a certain kind of quiet indie-rock/pop." -Ear Farm [Full Text]

"Suspension, their new self-released EP, is a nicely recorded document of moody, skillfully arranged indie rock." -Time Out New York

"Busy drums meet angular guitar riffs head on torpedoing the melodic vocal crooning into a submarine fit... the duplicity of having elements of post-punk and indie pop seems impossible but Limbs does it nicely without seeming too manic." -Smother Magazine [Full Text] (Editor's Pick)

"There is something about Limbs that I can not put my finger on. Ive listened to their new EP, Suspension, about 15 times in the last two weeks, listening from different angles, searching for the right way to describe their music... Joe Lally-like vocals... melodic yet angular Polvo-like guitars..." -Every Issue Presents Itself [Full Text]

"Focused and flows comfortably with well written and well delivered tracks repeatedly... Limbs have what it takes... until they release a full-length we won't know what they're truly capable of." -30Music [Full Text]

"Filled with a Sonic Youth inspired flavor these boys live in a world of moody post punk that rides the way of dark, yet lovely." -Crashin'In [Full Text]

"Quality post-punk... a quieter, moodier approach. Hushed vocals threaten to rise in intensity, while the music seems to be seconds away from a violent outbreak... I couldnt help but listen to it on repeat." -Lost at Sea Magazine [Full Text]
